South Africa's Songs

During the apartheid, South Africans sang many songs. They sang songs of sadness,  of anger and revulsion. Some songs were questions for the Apartheid Government, asking why they were doing this. Their songs changed with the events as they occurred. When Nelson Mandela was imprisoned, they sang out even harder. The South Africans' songs were a sign of great strength. They sang when they were at guns point. They sang when they were being executed. we should take strength from these songs and make sure nothing like this ever happens again.
