The Definition of "apartheid"

An  "apartheid" is a segregated political system. That means an official policy of racial segregation formerly practiced in the Republic of South Africa, involving political, legal, and economic discrimination against nonwhites. So basically, its racism made legal. Not cool.

The Weather

The weather is quit pleasant, though it is cold,
I can see mist arise from my mouth as though it was bold,
But whats fun, you see,
Is the trimming of the Christmas Tree!

I wrote this poem  to point out the weather. Although it is cold, you can still have fun. You can still find things to do despite the fact that its below freezing at night. Some people look upon the weather and say "How can it get this cold in a desert?" Its confusing, I know. But that's just how it is. Hopefully, it'll snow. That would be really cool. I know that some people living in Tuscon would rather that it didn't snow, but who doesn't want a white Christmas?

My group in English Class

My group had to make a PowerPoint that discusses the literary focus of some stories we read in class. I told you about the stories my previous posts. We had fun. I feel like we did equal amounts of work. One of my partners typed while the rest of us looked up the definitions and meanings of the literary focuses. When we present, I will be talking with the help of my group members when I get stuck. (I wasnt here yesterday to help finish the PowerPoint. ;P)

The literary focus of "The Begining of Something"

The people who participate in the action of a work of fiction are called characters. Characters are either main characters or minor characters, depending upon the extent of their development and on their importance in the story. This is the literary focus of "The Begining of Somethin".

The literary focus of "Angela's Ashes"

This story is a memoir. A memoir is a form of nonfiction in which a person recalls signifigant events in his or her life. It focuses on the details more than the facts."Angela's Ashes" is a memoir because it describes an event from the main character's past. In this story, Frank McCourt describes the time when he was put in Fever Hospital when he was diagnosed with typhiod/diptheria.
